Prayer for Boldness
“And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.”

Earlier in the Gospels, Peter was ashamed to be known as a disciple of Christ. He denied Jesus three times — just as Jesus had told him he would.
But in Acts 4:8, when Peter was confronted about the miracles and the purpose behind what they were doing, Scripture says he was filled with the Holy Spirit. Peter was no longer shying away. He stood bold in his faith.
Later, in verse 31, Peter and John had been released from questioning and gathered with other followers of Christ. Because of their faith, the literal place where they gathered was shaken. They were filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
This passage points to a few things.
First, the church is not the room you are in. It is the people in your midst who also believe in the power of Jesus Christ.
Second, when we pray and have faith, anything is possible. The Holy Spirit will come and do miracles — and give us the ability to do things we never thought we could. It is not because of us. It is because of a Savior who died for us and gave us connection to God through the Holy Spirit.
Because of the Holy Spirit, we can stand firm in our faith and know that our God is with us and will not forsake us.
