All Have Sinned

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 3:23

There is no person who is perfect and sinless besides Jesus. Even the most faithful people have sinned and fall short of the standard God holds us to.

We cannot achieve righteousness on our own, and God knows that our flesh will lead us to fail time and time again. That is not a loophole in the gospel. It is why we need one.

In verse 22, Paul writes, “the righteousness of God is through faith in Jesus Christ, to all who believe…”

Because of Jesus’s sacrifice, we have been set free from our sin. Jesus lived a perfect life, and God paid our debt of sin with the credit Jesus earned when He died.

We fall short. He does not. And by faith, His righteousness becomes ours.

This Week's Takeaway

When you feel the weight of falling short, remember Romans 3:22 — righteousness is through faith in Jesus Christ, to all who believe. Rest in what He finished, not what you can fix.
